And so it begins...

Thanks. I'm hoping over time it will get covered up and encrusted over nicely with some corals and algae.

The bottom is supported by a couple of larger rocks. at the top I used a bunch of wireties to fasten it to the overflow teeth. it's pretty darn solid and not going anywhere.

Any ideas on fish? Not that you have to worry about stocking...you could practically keep a pod of dolphins in that thing!

yeah I don't know yet. i'd like a couple of tangs. hopefully my yellow won't turn into a bully. he is super shy now. a group of something that will school a bit would be nice. i've always liked green chromis, but never had any luck with them.

yeah I do. I will probably try some. I don't know a thing about them though. I've always been more coral/invert focused than on fish. i've got some research to do before I start thinking about stocking.

I've always liked them too. I was thinking about maybe putting a trio in my tank, but from what I've read so far, the ones that are inactive and stay small enough for my tank are deepwater ones that don't like a lot of light so I'm in the same boat right now.

Read up on Anthias before you buy them. I have always wanted some but upon researching their needs I found that most seem to need a real constant source of food in the water column. At the time (and I still don't) I didn't want to install any sort of automatic feeding system. Cool group of fish though.

yeah the feeding concerns me. i've a very lazy feeder and have tended to get fish that can live with that.

sure are. btw, the blenny has colored up nicely and has finally decided to swim a little bit away from his cave. that is a pretty cool fish.

Yeah I really like them. I'm tempted to try another because his behavior with the clowns was definitely not normal. We shall see.

Well it's far from finished, but I have all the livestock moved over. Took most of the day and I smell like low tide right now :)

Looking really good!!

although the pics don't really give you a good impression of how BIG this tank really is.

This thread just went from "and so it begins" to It has begun!

Don't get a sense for the size, nor depth of the tank. It's the widest tank i've ever had. it almost seems wrong to have so much space :)

you know what is tough with a big tank? getting the full shot. right now I don't have a spot on either side to get the whole thing straight on. the woes, huh? :)
