It was a piece of work, let me tell you.....
Saturday we went and got about 35 gallons of live sand. That took all day.
Sunday I borrowed trash cans, went to Big Al's and got some Bio Spira and generally prepared.
Monday started by emptying the 180g, putting all the LR in tubs and cans, removed the corals, snails, hermits and caught the fishes.
After all the fish where removed I noticed that two where missing.
Leopard wrasse and Cleaner wrasse......Leopard was easy, it was burried in the sand and eventually came out, Cleaner remained MIA......
180g was empty, then the water guy came and helped move it out of the way and the 250g in it's place, dumped the sand in and proceeded to fill it with new and old water. Didn't have enough water and had to run to the LFS to get 35 more gallons, so we could turn the pump on. Dumped the LR back in and caught the monster black crab I had spotted a few weeks ago, I believe it killed one of my fire fish, Cleaner wrasse still missing......Water cloudy as hell. Fish going nuts in the 50g prison cell.
Tuesday morning, one moving thing in the sand soup.....the Cleaner wrasse is swimming around.......he must have hitch hiked out of the old tank on a piece of LR and back into the new tank on the same rock. Amazing...his new name is Houdini! No ammonia, no nitrates, no nitrites, so I decided to put the fish in, they where freaking out in the holding tank!
Tuesday night I put the corals back in. Tank swallowed them, plenty plenty space for new stuff.....went to Reef Life and got 30 more pounds of rock, need more still....
Wednesday night two tangs are showing signs of ick, first time ever in my tank, but they are eating and look a lot better tonight. Put the canopy on just a while ago and running only the T5's trying not to blast everybody with the new lights. Still need to hook up the chiller and the electrical panels and a few odds and ends, got the old 180g out too.
I feel as if I got run over by a truck, especially since I must have climbed up and down my stepping ladder about a thousand times. Have washed about 8 loads of towels since the we started. Too tired to download the pictures out of my camera, but they are forthcoming......
