Anemome question

I have a newly cycled 75 gal tank with a pair of oc clowns. I know I am at least 6-8 moths away from adding an anemone to this tank and want to use this time to research the best things to keep a healthy anemone that will host my clowns. Currently my lights are 4x54 t5 so my question Is

what is the best anemone for my clowns and set up.

Ive kept BTAs under 4bulb fixtures before in a 55. I even had a green haddoni on the bottom and it did pretty well.

I would start with a bta.

I was leaning towards a bta from what I read so far but was concern as it is not a natural host for my clowns. Does this make a difference?

While this is not thier natural host, most will adapt to these. Keep in mind theres no set time for clowns to host. It could take 2 days or 2 years

Agreed- the BTA is the most widely accepted "universal" species for most clownfish. Even the condy, which does not host in the wild, has been known to allow clownfish and even some damsels to reside.

Good to know about the BTA and probably will go with that but I do love the look of a carpet are they that much harder to keep?

Yes carpets (which 1?) are harder to keep than most BTA's. Most are more delicate in the beginning, They like brighter light, some like way more flow and some like very little. Some are really good at catching fish, and I think all of them really need a bigger than 55 to spread out in.
My haddonis get over 20+" when they are in the mood, which is most of the time. You can keep them smaller by feeding less, but I want mine to spawn someday, So I feed heavy.
And in my opinion, I love the sight of them when they are larger! to me thats the idea. Full mature size in all their glory
