Anemone 911

Alright so I have had this anemone a week now and the first three days it did fine. It's moved around but in general seems to have found a rock it likes. After the fourth day I noticed it came down to the sand bed and attached partially to the glass. Later that day it was tucked halfway under the rock in a small cave usually housing my peppermint shrimp. For some reason (I don't know why) one of my clowns decided that way a good spot to kick up sand and burried my anemone in the cave. I waited overnight to see of it would dig out and it never did.

I decided to intervene and flipped the rock over (having to relocate some corals and rocks in the process. He had started crashing hard. I left him attached to the rock and he stayed mouth agape for a while until over night he closed it. I woke up this morning to him puffed up but in the same spot. Left him and the tank alone, now he is under the rock and hanging down really pathetic looking. Advice? Leave him be? Pull him out?

I tried editing my post but on mobile it's being a hassle. The tank is a standard 30 gallon, and it's about 8 months old.

Well it seems like he's gone from anemone decline to just being in
the shade under the rock. Some of the tentacles are still closed up but he is also firmly attached to the rock. I'm not sure If his mouth is open or not as he is letting himself hand upside down like a curtain at the moment. I'll see how he progresses through the day

Hi Squeaky i have an anemone its a ritteri and ive had him about 7months now mine did the moving around the tank for a while before he settled on my rock.
I have moved him a couple of times only because he was on my glass and i didnt like him there.

If yours is stuck on a rock i would leave him well alone, tempting to remove him from the rock will definatley kill it because his foot will be damaged.
I found if i changed the flow in my tank or moved the powerhead slightly mine would move on his own.
But if i was you i would just leave him where he is,he will move again soon i bet you anything, they will find a place where there is good light and flow and im sure he will find it place very soon.

What nem have you got?

It was a bta, he let go of the rock yesterday morning and I removed him and took him back to my LFS. All of their BTA seemed to be in pitiful shape. Maybe just a bad shipment. I traded him in for a white condy that has beautiful purple tentacles. It seems to love my tank and is doing well, had breakfast with my corals. It's picked a spot to plant it's foot on the rock near where my clowns host so we'll see.
