Anemone and peppermint shrimp

I have Aiptasia and always liked the shrimp but in just trying to make sure it won't eat my RBTA.

Anyone have both in a reef tank.

I have both in my reef tank. I always have peppermints in my tank. I have 5 RBTAs and the pepps never bother them at all.

That's what I wanted to hear. I got burned last time by my peppermint shrimp. It found a colony of acans it was eating (definitely not just cleaning). Do you have acans too? I'm hoping it was one rouge shrimp. That or I'll move the acans to my SPS tank.

I have the opposite problem. I just bought a new rose bubble tip and a peppermint shrimp to get rid of my aiptasia. But I just found the anemone eating the peppermint shrimp. Does this happen regularly? Or was the anemone just really hungry?

Sounds like a hungry anemone. They will certainly eat whatever they can catch. I have one acan that they have never bothered with. I have never seen any of the pepps go after coral or anemone (except aiptasia).

I had to remove two peppermint shrimp from my display because they were eating bot my rbtas. They were model citizens for almost 6 months and then one day I caught them eating a hole through my starfish. I removed the starfish as it was obviously dead and over the next week they ripped half the flesh from my plate coral, tore tentacles from my frogspawn, and nearly killed both of my rainbow btas. I think it depends on the shrimp honestly. They mowed down my aptasia problem but eventually took a liking to all of my fleshy coral and inverts.

YIKES!!! I can not afford that.

Same here. I've found that any peppermint shrimp that eats Aiptasia will also have a go at other anemones, pestering them and plucking at their tentacles.
