In the future I want to get a small anemone and a small clownfish. What are a good combo that are easy to keep?

Thanks,

Steve

Now refresh my memory(it's been about 10 years)........When I buy an anemone and a clownfish, do they "automatically" go together? Or should I try to find a "pair" that are already hanging out together?

Ok, lots of googling and watching youtube videos.........I answered my question.

So a Bubble Tip and a Ocillaris clown............that is what I'm going to get. Some say they won't host each other, but most say they will. My LFS has a BTA right now for around $40ish, and from what I've read it's best to get it first so it can find it's home, then add other corals later. Then I'll pick up the clownfish a little later and hope for the best with the hosting.

From my own experience and what I've read from many others is that clarkii clowns are one of the best for hosting anemones. The second my anemone hit the water and before it even touched the rocks, my clarkii clown jumped right in.

How old is your tank? It's best to wait until it matures (+6mths) before you get a nem as they can be sensitive to the inevitable param swings of a new tank. I highly recommend reading though this site: http://www.karensroseanemones.net ...FANTASTIC source for BTA info! :D

My tank is ready for one, I'm just doing my research before jumping in. Live rock is from a 6 year old tank, live sand is from the same tank. And mine's been setup for over 6 months. I was going to go a different direction, but now I'm going to go with a mixed reef type tank. 2-3 fish, inverts, maybe some softies, and the BTA.
I stopped by the LFS today and took a picture of the BTA they have.....but of course it didn't save on my phone so I can't post it. It looked like it got something to eat overnight and was still eating it when the lights came on. A small part of it was still closed up. I didn't pick it up since I want to make sure that's what it was and not sick. I'll wait until I get back there later this week and see how it looks then.
