got one of these from TBS with "The Package" wanted to know a little about it and if it was a good host for my clown fish? what do I need to feed it and how do you feed it?

Not a natural or typical clown host. Clarks and Tomato clowns don't seem to mind hosting in them.

Medium lighting, feeding with 1cm cube sized shrimp and fish based meals seems to be right every 3 days or so.

Bigger issue in a new tank is the preference of stability. Most end up declining and then melting over about 3-9 months.

Best of luck with it.

I bought a condy and a tomato clown. No hosting as of yet. I've been feeding mine mysis when I feed the fish too. My tomato shows no interest in hosting after being in there for 4 days with him, but time will tell. I actually want to get rid of him, because I want to make sure that it doesnt' consume any of my reef creatures. Because it's not naturally a host for fish, it runs the chance of eating anything that trys to host it. That's been a big turnoff for me. However I heard that green mythax crabs host it or something like that....

I'm hoping that now that my tank is stable, I don't have the melting problem. If I do though, at what point should I say to myself "Cut and Run" (Colbert report plug) and pull him out? He looks okay now, he's starting to color back up to purple again from his previous white state.
