Anemone eating clownfish?

My carpet keeps eating my clownfish. I thought they were going to acclimate well with each other. Any solutions as to why this might not be working?

It appears that you have an S. Haddoni, the stickiest/strongest sting that I have ever felt.

What type of clowns?

This isn't common, but isn't unheard of with Haddonis.

This is very rare. I would have to think that something was wrong with the clowns. It's up to the clown if it gets eaten or not. If there is something wrong with the clowns slime coat, it may trigger the anemones nematocysts to fire. If the clown is health, and the tank isn't stressful, you shouldn't lose clowns to host anemones. I would find a new source for your clowns and/or quarantine the fish to insure they are healthy before adding them to the tank. Do you have more aggressive fish that are chasing your new clowns?

My haddoni ate a pair of tanks raised ocellaris clowns. My power went out and the clowns just dove in for the first time. If they dont slowly acclimate themselves, there is a chance they will get eaten.
