Anemone Emergency?!?

How old is your tank?
I ask because you have been registered for a month, identified yourself as a newbie, and your rock doesn't look like it's been in saltwater long enough to have cycled.
IMO you should have your tank up and running for at least 6 months before adding an anemone unless you are an experienced reefkeeper with anemone experience and special circumstances.

It is 1 month old on 2/11. I've read a bunch of stuff about keeping anemone's...and I brought up all of those points with my LFS, and they insured me that it would be fine...maybe they were just trying to make a sale?

Anemone Update: He is purched at the bottom of the tank and his bulb tips have returned after what I think was a huge crap (long black string floating up). He looks happy and healthy now. I think I am going to upgrade to the 2x 175 MH setup.

You will want to slowly acclimate the anemone to the halides over a period of weeks. A sudden increase in light can/will cause the anemone to bleach unless you acclimate it slowly.

There is an article on WetWebMedia about acclimating to MH, I think it is by Anthony Calfo. Basically it involves getting plastic window screw and placing several layers between the bulbs and the animals and every 3 or 4 days removing a layer until over the course of a few weeks, you no longer have any screen left.
