Anemone eviction

Okay, Here's the story.
I have a 55 gal well established tank. I also have one huge Sebae anemone. Last month I purchased 2 percula clowns from the same tank in my LFS. They are the same size. They both bonded with the anemone and everyone was happy.

Then"¦ one of the clowns kicked the other out (not paying his share of the rent?) and will not let the other near their anemone. Is there anything I can do for my homeless clownfish?

after a while the female might let the male back into the nem. i got a pair that the female will absolutely wont let him in for months still.
my other pairs they both share the nems.

I had the same problem I even when as far as buying one more nem for just the clarkii and that still did not work he was hosting both of them . So I Just took the clarkii back to my LFS and now my matted pair of maroons have a total of 3 nems that they host .

Imo once a nem is added if there isn't an alpha yet there will be.. how big were the clowns they might not be sexed yet causing the eviction

The only thing that has worked in the past for myself is to put the smaller male in a large bottle with holes drilled all over it. Than place him near the nem with the female, so close that she has to look at him. They will duke it out and he will let her win, but she can't get rid of him. Than 4-5days later, let him out and they probably will be back together.

Otherwise I had to do it with my female last time as it didn't work with the male in the bottle and than it worked great.

I would not take this advice, don't put your clown in a bottle for 4-5 days.

Your clowns will work it out eventually and the female will let the male back in. Give it time.
