Anemone feeding?

Little silver fish, usually sold frozen as food for other marine critters, like anemone's. :)

Sold in most LFS stores in the same freezer that the frozen mysis/brine are found.

[welcome]

They are a type of fish and yes, anemones will feed on them as well as other fish and critters.

I just have a small tank with live guppys and feed them to my anemones. Also, my clowns will eat them too. They have become quite agressive.

Thanks for the replies.

I will investigate purchasing some as an alternative to brine shrimp for my anemone.

When I first got my RBTA I was feeding it silversides as well. I stopped feeding it like 3 months ago and it is still doing great. With good lighting you dont HAVE to feed it. If you do though, start feeding it small pieces, dont just toss a whole silverside in there.

my cousin told me he was picking up a rock flower anenome this weekend i finally saw a picture in the forum its ugly dont know if i want it now.

I read on another thread that someone has his anemone under a rock so it has bad lighting but it's happy because his clown fish feeds it everyday. Pretty interesting if you ask me.

Mine collects flakes that drift near i'ts tentacles. I still give it a silverside once a week, but does not actually need it. It seems to grow alot faster on silvers.

I target feed my anems 1-2 times per week. I have a mix that I run through a food processor that includes silver sides, krill, shrimp, scallops, squid, brine, mysis, plankton, formula 1 and 2, flake, and nori. The tank gets this about 2 times a week.

IME, if you have good flow anems seem to do a decent job of pulling food in on their own during regular tank feedings. I also remember reading that, while they can consume large chunks of food, smaller pieces are easier for them to digest. I never give them a whole silver side, and usually won't give them more than 1/5.
