Anemone Fight

I have just recently added a third korailia 4 to my 125 and my Pink tip anemone moved toward what I think is a curly cue anemone/ They were stuck together for minute. Now they are both shrunk down and the curly cue tenticles have turned brown at the tips. The pink tip anomone has blown up with all tenticles shrunk in, he also has some appearence damage. Is this anyhting to wory about or will they be OK? Thank you for any input in advance.

Definitely two species you shouldn't have in the same tank. Curlique (B. annulata) anemones have a powerful sting and need to be kept in a specimen tank. Separate them ASAP. They might pull through, hopefully. Not to sound preachy, but do research animals before purchasing.

Actually The Pink Tip I already had, and the Curlique Came on a piece of liverock that I purchased later. I did not even know what it was until I reserched it. Thank You for the reply.

Probably live rock from the carribean, since that is where that species originates (as does condylactis). But yeah, definitely not a reef safe species because of their sting. However, they are very hardy and can make for a nice specimen display.

How can I remove him without harm?

The easiest way would be to take the rock that it is attached to out of the tank. Do you have another tank where you can put it?

Yes, but I would rather keep the rock in the tank it is in. It has more on it than just that anemone. A lot of places I read says that this anemone is reef safe. Why?

B. annulata tends to wander, and in moving around, it stings other animals. I'm not sure why they say "reef safe" except that perhaps it might be found on reefs in the wild--or they want to sell an anemone. I think a better description for this species would be "not reef safe." They can eat small fish or other animals too. From what I've read, they like to have their base and column in a crevice in the rock. If you can provide that, perhaps the anemone won't wander and be an issue for your corals.
