Growth rate is largely dependent on how much you feed it. If you feed it daily, it will grow a lot faster than if you only feed weekly.
Bubble Tips are quite variable as far as splitting goes. Some do it a lot, others don't all that much. They seem to split most often when they are either really healthy, or under stress.
