Anemone Help.

Im new to saltwater any help is greatly appreciated

bought a existing setup in december 2014
30 gallon cube w/15 gallon sump ,skimmer ,96 watt Corallife 50/50 PC light

Live stock 2 Ocellaris clowns,Flame angel ,crabs ,Zoas,Bubble Coral and Anemone

I posted in a local forum and was led to believe this is a Sebae that is bleaching please give me your opinions and thoughts and measures I need to take if there is a potential problem.

That is a M. doreensis, or a LTA (long tentacle anemone). It is a anemone that need to live in/on the sand. You will need a deep sand bed, bright light and not too much flow for him. He also will need very clean water to do well. It is not a Sebae anemone which is the common name of either H. malu or H. crispa.

OrionN Thank you for your reply. Now that I know I can start reading up on LTA.
My concern right now is his coloring, some of the things I read makes me think he is bleached ? other than that he seems healthy ,mouth is closed (not gaping) tentacles are inflated and sticky and he definitely eats. Since I got him I havent been feeding him much I was feeding a small krill once a week. I bought silversides yesterday and fed him half of a silverside.

What are your thoughts on his coloring ?

He is bleaching out, a sign that he needs some more light. (length or intensity)

Please do not use silversides for anemones.

Silversides have a habit of not being as fresh as we think. That means that going into the gut of a fish is OK as it is being digested. In an anemone it is not digested the same way and the silversides have a history of causing a decline / death of quite a few anemones. While you might hit a silverside that was frozen fresh and is ok, the numbers are more against this happening.
