Anemone hidding?

Came home from work today and found my anemone is hidding behind the rock it has attached to.

Can anyone tell me what its doing ? why do they hide, out of flow, partially out of light..

My girlfriend said she thinks it was split almost in half? Do they hide when they split?

Thanks for your time, suggestions,& answers!

What kind of anemone is it? Some anemones are known to move around and some like to stay put. Above all, anemones will move until they find a spot they like with good flow to breathe and good lighting. Make sure your salinity is between 1.024- 1.026. Also what kind of lighting do you have?

RBTA and its attached in a spot it liked, good flow, MH lights, 2 GSMC hosting, water quality is all in-line.

This is the first anemone for me and all is going very well for last month +. Just never had to deal with one splitting, as I think this may be what is going on. I just did not know they would hide during the process (if that is what is going on)

Thanks

Sounds like its splitting to me. A picture would help.

Anemones hide usually if they are being stressed or splitting to avoid being stressed out. If your anemone has been doing good in the last month, chances are its splitting.
