anemone hiding

My BTA was the pride of the tank, until it went to the back of the tank behind the live rock--barely getting any light--why would it do this--it was doing so well--from what I can see it is still ok--everything else in the tank is thriving--however I just can't get that damn thing out--should I try to remove it?

Do not remove it but look for the reasons why it moved, most of the time they walk away from areas were they are bothered by either the flow or other critters. My guess is flow they like slow laminar flow. Check it out and it will come back to get some light.

I think you hit it on the head--my tank has a lot of flow--i recent;y cut back on some--right after i was experimenting with the flow the anemone went into hiding--i just hope it doesn't die in there--there's no light

If you can't reduce the flow in certain areas I think it will be difficult to keep an anemone.

Flow is not an issue--as it can always be diverted===upon further investigation it appears that the GBTA may be splitting--the appears to be 2 btas forming--this could be just the large bta folding a differant way--however we'll give it time--my only concern is not too much light it getting it--however it may have retreated to split--prior to its retreat it was brilliantly colored and eating silversides on a daily basis

I hope is that although normally they split at their original location. In any case it is good you can adjust the flow.
