anemone hurting fish?

I am planning to get an anemone for my ocellaris clowns. I was considering a bulb anemone that my LFS has. It is currently hosting a clown and in the process of splitting. Not sure exactly what kind it is but its completely white.

My question is:
Will an anemone hurt the other fish in my tank.
I have a royal gramma, marine betta and some kind of spotted goby. I have recently seen some videos on youtube of people feeding fish to there anemones and i'd hate for my fish to get caught up in one.

Also, is bulb a good anemone to get?

Before getting an anemone, you will want to research keeping one. I doubt it would eat any of your fish, however, it will sting coral. Also, completely white means it is beached. That isn't necessarily a death sentence, but it does mean the anemones health is comprimised. I suggest you go to Karen's Rose Anemones, a website devoted to BTAs.

Could the fact that its bleached be a reason for it splitting. It looked really healthy. Could it have been a different type of anemone?

Mine hasn't hurt any other fish, but the aptasia's are hurting the anenome if you can believe that!

It could be splitting because of the bleaching. Bubble tip anemones (or Bulb anemones) will split when the conditions aren't good as a way to survive. One of two anemones has a better chance at surviving than just one.

I would not purchase a white anemone though. Condylactis and sebae anemones are often sold when they are white. They should be a shade of tan though.

I would definitely pass on this anemone and wait for one that is more colorful and not splitting. Anemones that just split need good water conditions and a stable environment. Moving tanks could just push them over the edge to their death.
