Anemone ID - is this a pest?

I found this growing at the base of my lord of the rings paly's. It has been there a good while now, I just wasn't too concerned about it. It seems to not bother anything seriously. It doesn't multiply either. The only affect seems that the area around the paly's seems to turn a dark tinge. Potentially it is stinging the paly, but it doesn't kill it or hinder it apparently.

As you can see in the pic. It is a very small anemone. Fully extended smaller than a dime. It has clear tentacles with white tips. The body is a tannish color when a flashlight is held up to it, but it has an interesting greenish tinged ring around it's circumference.

Any ideas?

it will eventually turn red, I got a few of them in one tank, seem like a pest anemone but I dont think its Aiptasia or Majano

I have had the same thing on a piece of LR for a couple of weeks It looks like corynactis or pseudocorynactis (Ball Anemone) when i search it.
Could anyone else confirm this?

I have one of those also
Popped up on a new piece of LR it split into 3 the 2 new one vanished May have just been blown off the rock they are in a high current area
Its been in the tank almoxt 4 month and seems to stay very small
Ball anemone is what I was thinking it is also but have not been able to fine out mich about them

Yeah, I have them all over my tank as well. They seem to come and go, and I'm not too sure on anything about them, besides they don't reach plague numbers like aptasia. They don't seem to care about light, so I'm assuming they filter feed.

I have some in my tank. They seem to do fine but not pest. Just added to diversity to the tank. They come out more at night and are non photosynthetic anemones.

+1 on ball anemone. They can start to spread so just keep an eye on it. But they are kind of cool.

Thanks all! I think you nailed it. After checking a bunch of pictures out, it certainly seems to be a ball anemone.
