Anemone ID - one I haven't seen!

I looks to me like a H. malu. The price should be about the same as a similar sized H. crispa.

$40 sounds about right.

Given that shot, I'd have to agree. I forgot they had ridges around the circumference of the tentacles.
Here's a malu I used to have. It died under the care of family while i was in Australia. :(

Wow! That is beautiful!!!!!

Can you tell me a little about your experience with it? What kind of tank do you keep it in and what does it like? Really - and and all information you can give would be so greatly appreciated!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that!

If you don't mind me asking - how did it die while you were gone? Can you tell me more about your experience with it? I would reallly appreciate it...

Yeah - dug it's foot in right away! Within about 20 minutes it's foot was about 1/2 way down the sand. I set it right in front of my rock work... Stayed there all night - we'll see if he's still there when I get home from work!

I agree that it is H. aurora. I just got a book through Amazon called Anemone Fishes and their Host Sea Anemones by Fautin and Allen. Great book with terrific descriptions of clowns and anemones, hosting options, and characteristics for ID'ing nems and clowns- AND, it was $5 since it was a discontinued book (with many left)!
