Anemone ID please?

Ok so I was at the LFS the other day, and saw this in the tank, listed as maxi-mini, looks like baby blue gig to me, I have a purple gig already in my big tank, and most maxi-minis that i have seen are usually multi colored or more one color dominant but still have other colors also, this one is solid carolina blue, hard to tell by the pics, its mouth looks like a gig to me, and its tentacles , so figured id ask here as well.

Hard to say, but its not a gig. If I had to guess I would say maxi mini

haddoni might be a good call, i meant to say haddoni or gig, i really dont think its a mxi mini, i havnt seen any solid color ones

I agree with Todd. Sure looks a lot like a small haddoni.

yea but that one still has more then one shad eof blue and the tentacles look different to me, thats why i think its not a maxi mini

ya, true, how much did you pay for it? my lfs sells maxi's pretty cheap would be sweet to pick up a blue haddoni for a low price =D

thats the best part, $35, I said you sure its a maxi mini, he said yes, very rare, and i thought no way its a maxi, so i grabbed my phone and googled blue maxi mini and nothing i saw was one color like this one, and i thought cant be that rare for $35, so I said bag it up, i figured either way i had a nice nem for $35

keep in mind this is also the same fish store that i grabbed my H.mag from as well, it was extremely bleached, and he didnt know what kind it was

im incredibly jealous, expecially for the fact my gf has been bugging me to add something blue to the tank and ive been looking at carpets lately.. ha

that h. mag looks awsome =D wish my LFS sometimes had ppl who didnt know what they were dealing with for sweet deals like that

yeah I paid $20 for the H.Mag, but it was very bleached and not doing so great when I bought it

WOW!! Congrats on your good find! My LFS is trying to convince people to buy a maxi mini with a blue outer rim for $130! I would've actually paid that much for the one you got.

FWIW, it looks like there are big areas without tentacles on the disk that cause the remaining strips of tentacles to look like thick cornrows. You can kinda see what I mean in the pic by eastamherstbias. I have noticed that those patterns tend to be very pronounced on maxi minis, sometimes taking up half the oral disc with empty space, while it is usually much less noticable on Haddonis.

100% maxi mini no doubt about it. I've seen a lot that are that solid color.

100% sure that its a Maxi mini. If you want it 100% in your mind, maxi minis "usually" have orange spots all over their column and foot, haddonis will not.

That pic doesnt look like the exact same one as I have, and on the maxis that i have seen, it seems like the outer tentacles are elongated more so then then inner ones, this one doesnt have any of those, and I cant find any pics of a solid blue maxi mini like this one.
