Anemone ID wanted.

Where are the spots located? Would you say there are a lot or a handful? Are the white spots the same color as the rest of the anemone? How about the tips of the anemone, is there color there? For good measure, what color would you say the anemone is? How about the stalk/foot? Is it a different color from the disk or tentacles?

I have an H. crispa (lots of these are called sebaes), and yours looks similar to mine, but it could still be something else.

Unfortunately, it's hard to tell colors from the picture (at least on my monitor). The spots (they're called verucae (or something like that) but I can't remember off the top of my head) under ours appeared white when we got it, but our nem was bleached, but the spots matched the color of the rest of the nem except for the purple tips ours has. As ours got healthier it regained its color and is now a beige color with purple tips.

Hope this helps a little, a little more info would be helpful, but a good current picture would probably be the most useful. If you can get more pics, be sure to include not only the top, but under the disk and the foot.

Good luck!

The anemone itself is a pinky beige colour. More of a beige I guess. The tips of the tentacles are purple. The disk itself has faint white lines like spokes of a bicycle wheel. the underside of the disk has evenly spaced white spots, largest ones no bigger than 1mm. they start to fade away on the actual stalk. Lastly the very base of the stalk, the part which attatches to the rock is an orange colour.

When I was choosing the anemone out of the tank at the lfs. One of them was bleaced.. Completely white and the tentacles were about 2 - 3 inches in length. Where as all the healthy, beige~pink coloured ones had tentacles about 1 - 2 inches only.

My sebae does not have the orange foot, and I don't think H. crispas do, but I think your description could be helpful, unfortunately, I don't know enough to remember which one's do have the orange foot. I would suggest googling the names of the nems that have been suggested and seeing if you can make a match that way. I have an idea that I'm going to check out as well.
