I just got this Anemone. It is from Bali.

Can anyone help identify it?

Thanks!

I don't think there are rock flower anemones in Bali. Moreover, the size is like an open palm. Do rock flowers get that big?

Oh I didn't read the Bali part rock flowers come from the Caribbean and can grow to about 8" I don't think they are found in Bali so it must be a different species it does show some similar traits I'll have to look at the picture on my computer when I get home to see it better my phone sucks with pictures and also has a badly cracked screen

Actually on second thought.... yours seems to have much longer tentacles. It's probably the different colour contouring that threw me off.

That is a classic still stressed H. malu. The different colors of the tentacles and the rings on the tentacles is the possitive ID characteristic. Not all Malu have these two characters, but if they have them, they are Male.

Yeah I can see it now on the computer best of luck post some pics once it's acclimated!

This is after 48 hours in my tank. Not sure what are the signs of stress. Don't see any gaping and it is opened up.

Looks to be attached to the rock. My emperor shrimp decided to move from my elegance coral to this anemone.

What are your water Parameters? Also do you have stable salinity and temp my malus did not open up until I added and auto fill and hooked up my heater to my apex they seem to be more forgiving of temp changes but more sensitive to salinity changes

Once he settle in he should look more like the two anemones on the L side of my 65 gal tank. This is as big as they get. Give him some time to settle in.

When I first put these anemones together, I though that there may be stinging activity thus the barrier. Later I found out the barrier was not needed.
