anemone killed my cardinal?

Bonsai Boi

In Memoriam
My female bangaii died the other week rather suddenly. I couldn't think of any other reason other than she got to close to my anemone (tends to sleep by it) and got stung. Do you think this is a possibility?

Pretty unlikely actually - Bangai Cardinals are nocturnal and thats usually when fish get nabbed. If its was a health adult, it should not have succumbed to the nem. Nems usually get the odd meal of a) bottom dweller that got lost - usually a dragonet or b) small fish or c) sick fish in a bad way. I would be surprised if the nem is responsible for killing a healthy adult bangai. How big is your tank and again, what nem do you have?
Cheers
Keith

In the wild Bangai Cardinals often host in anemone's. Not to say that a carpet nem wouldnt make a snack of one though.
