Anemone looks lifeless!!

I just moved a clown fish and a white anemone from my buddy's tank to mine last night. He didn't have his heater plugged in, tank looked like a swamp -- full of algae!

The clown is doing great. The anemone looked great last night and this morning, but now he looks a little lifeless. Most of his tentacles are laying on the coral rock I laid him on.

I gave him some frozen baby brine shrimp earlier today and he seemed to take it.

Does this mean anything??

Thanks!!

There alot ogf things that could be causing it to look lifeless. Most anemones need an established tank w/ strong lighting and flow.

How long did you acclimatize it?
How did you acclimatize it?
How old is the tank?
Water parameters?

pH = 8.2
Ammonia = 0
Nitrates and Nitrites are starting to rise. I am going to do a water change either tonight or tomorrow.

I have a power head on either side of my tank. Good water flow.

I had him in a bag. Took him from cold water. Floated bag for about 20 min. Added about 1/4 cup of my water every 5 min. for 30 min.

My tank is 4 weeks old.

Yeah, I kinda thought that, but for this thing to live in my buddy's tank and not mine is just absurd! My buddy didn't have his heater on, light was on every now and then. I felt bad for the thing so I offered to buy the fish and anemone from him rather than let it suffer in a dark and cold tank.

looks like a (nice) percula and condylactis anemone.
I wouldn't give up on the anemone just yet- it might make it, especially if it's eating. Even healthy anemones will sometimes go flaccid.

I have a 10gal hospital tank available. It's not set up yet.

Is there anything I can do for him or just let it go?

i would just let it go...not much you can do now that its in your tank...it would probably be more stressful on it to move it to a different tank...try this the next time you acclimate somthing...i have a little bucket that i stick whatever im acclimating into along with the water it came in and i bought some rubber air hose not the stiff kind but like silicone flexible type and i put one end in the tank im acclimating to and the other end i tie in a knot until the water is dripping into the bucket maybe 3 or 4 drips a second and then once the water has trippled in depth depending on what im acclimating i add the "thing" to the tank and dump the water out
