This is a weird question? I have 2 clone anemones and I'm buying a 24 gallon Nano to house them in.......I MAY upgrade to the HQI hood. Here's my plan, use current system water only, LR from current tank only, sand is already in the tank, has been in the tank for a year..........used tank. Can I simply transfer the anemones from one tank to the other in a day? I figure same water, same rock, live sand, can it hurt? The reason for the move is the split. I now have 2 anemones in a 90 gallon SPS packed tank, I need to get them out ASAP before they kill stuff. Also I have a LOT of LR and want to remove some anyway. Please give me your opinions. Thanks.

As long as you set up the tank properly and don’t allow the rock to get dried out, and you need to wash your sand toughly with clean salt water. Place the rock in the aquarium, add your sand slowly. If it is washed properly, "many times", you will not have a cloud storm, or any detritus floating, by the end of the day, it should be good to go. I would add at least half of the tank water from your existing tank as well, along with some cheto and as much biological that you can add the better. By moving the Anemones you might even get them to split again, because the elevated stress. Just make sure you use half of the cycled water from your old tank to fill this tank, I mean half by filling up the new tank half way. Do a water change of 25% in 3-4 days from water again from your 90. This will minimize the cycle, and will add more biological as well. Then you should be good to go. Let me know how this works out for you, just make sure to wash your sand very good, 5 gallon buckets with prepared water, is the best method. Stir rigorously until there is no detritus and when you stir, the water is clear, then you know you’re ready.

I don't recommend it, but I must say I have done it. If you stay on top of testing and are prepared to make some waterchanges to smooth the initial few weeks, I think you'll be fine if the sand bed is not crashing(ed).
In fact, just recently set up a breeder with an H. crispa like this when I broke down the 300gal. I tend to run sandless to keep down the crud in such environments, which likely makes it easier then dealing with new/damaged/dying sand beds.

I would set the tank up and let it run for a couple weeks and test the water every couple of days to see if it cycles and make sure the water params are stable then put the btas in there. I would go with the 150 watt MH because they are under MH in your 90 gallon. Besides light is good.

Thanks a LOT!!! It may be a week or so before all this happens but I will let you know how it goes......BTW I had the same sand washing idea, I think that's best. The LFS I am buying the tank at is selling it to me since they will no longer carry this tank, it's completely set up with no fish, just corals. The owner said by Wed. he'll have a price for me, until then it's stand shopping time. My wife wants something "nice" since it's going in the living room. Sorry that was a reply to the first person. I may not do all this in a day but I will use my tank water and rock. I will have plenty of water available to do changes...........plus I work at a LFS with water on hand. I promise I'll keep you all updated. BTW if anyone knows of a HQI lamp that fits on the JBJ 24 gallon nano cube that would be helpful.........I'm looking for options. Thanks again everyone!!! Maybe I'll post a pic of the two.
As you can see they are a little too close for comfort. I agree that another split "should" be coming soon due to the original anemone splitting off a small portion of itself, it's back to it's split size already. It took a while to split the first time but I wonder if it's a size issue? I bought it as a baby and once it reached this size it split...........perhaps that's this BTA's reproduction size? I really have no idea but it's a theory. Anyway here's a picture of the two, obviously they like the same conditions

Looking good. That torch on the right is pretty small.
Bta's will split when they are healthy or when they are stressed. There really isn't a set size that they split at. You might want to check your water params just to make sure everything is right. They look healthy imo.
I suggest when you do move them, also move the rock(s) they are attached to if you can to prevent any damage when trying to get them off.

I'm pretty sure the BTA took care of the torch.........I moved it but it has been struggling since I upgraded my lighting so I can't really do much about it. My plan is to use my LR from this tank for the new one.........however a clam is on the same rock as the large anemone so I will have to either force it to move by itself OR pull it off.........since I work at a LFS I know how to do this and it's a smooth rock.
