Anemone out of water

Hi,

I have anemone that has moved up to near the top of the aquarium. I am concerned now because when I perform a water change then at its present position it will be out of water for about 15 minutes. Is that ok? None of my other corals never seem to mind but I wasn't sure if an anemone had any special requirements as far as having to be in water 100% of the time like a sponge does for example. Any help is greated appreciated!

Its should be fine because it would just fall of after a minitue or two.

This should be ok lots of anemones are exposed to air during low tide. They are also often shipped out of water under a damp towel.

If its going to be long and you are concerned just use a spray bottle of salt water to mist it.

Also you may want to turn off your lights or at least turn them down a bit so so you don't 'burn' the anemone with the unfiltered light.

A few minutes of being exposed shouldn't hurt it.

Mine don't. I have a whole bunch of clones that "hang out" at the water line, and when I clean and do water changes, they are exposed for 20-30 minutes. They have never fallen off. They just stretch downward toward the water and look miserable. Never any long-term harm, however.
