I see a lot of potential Chris. (I hope you don't mind that I manipulated your image; please let me know if so and I'll delete all copies.)

For example; a simple crop yields:

Some may not like my version, and certainly it can be improved by cloning out the clown and orange monti in the background but I don't have the skills to do those two things, but I think you are on the right path.

Nice shot.
you're getting some nice colors, despite the use of the flash which usually washes the colors off. For this I usually adjust the shutter speed and aperture for shooting without flash and then shoot with the flash on, take a few shots with differering flash intensities or flash exposure adjustment (if your camera allows it)
Also stick your lens to the glass to avoid reflections or bouce your flash up if it bounces up and down...
