anemone problems

i bot a BTA and two mated clowns about 3 days ago- all was well til today when the anem inverted itself - i moved it to a shadier section of the tank - i have 2 400w mh in a 185 gallon 25 inch tall tank - still closed up - what should i do.

that is very bright.

sudden brightness compared to previously probably caused it.
I think slowly acclimate the anemone to the light.

need more details about your tank 1st before more recommendations.
I think is to raise the MH higher so that the intensity is lower and slowly lower the MH to acclimate the anemone. (but depends if u have other corals to consider....ah...now i see another reason why mono-specific setups have less factors to consider)

Try using some screen under the MH if you can't bring the lights up higher. This will shade as much as you need (1-2-3 layers ect.) and then you can see how the BTA will react. Be carful of heat issues on the screen though, don't want you to burn down your house... never heard of this happening ,but hey, better safe then sorry. The other corals you have ( if any) will just think its overcast for a time. Shouldn't really hurt them much.

could it be tank warmth - it was a hot day and the tank got to 86 - overnite anem is still closed up and trying to move around
