Anemone Question...please Help

hi all,
i have 2 ocellaris clowns, and i am looking for the right anemone for them, i would love for the both of them to host in the same one, because i think it is amazing to watch them host together. I was wondering what kind might be the best, i have gotten mixed information...i have a 37 gal cube..skimmer..fuge..250 watt metal halide....should i go for carpets, bta, condy????? HELP

How long has everything been set up? You have enough light on that small tank for practically any anemone you would want, (though clownfish don't necessarily need anemones). However, most can attain appreciable sizes (>12"), so they will dominate the space in that tank. If you have never kept anemones before, my recommendation is a BTA. They are by far the hardiest "host" anemone you can buy and they also have potential to split (so you may get more than one out of it). Just a warning, though: No anemones are actually "easy" per se, as they tend to be much more delicate than most animals we have in our tanks. Any tank with an anemone is an anemone tank--it is at the mercy of the animal.

my tank has been set up for almost a year, i have kept a condy and a bta in my 20 gal at different times...but unfortunatley neither of them survived the transfer into the new tank. i was thinking carpet, but my fear of its size dominating the tank sooner than later has stopped me. i know that my clowns dont "need" a host...but i just think it will make them so much happier

Go with a BTA! Much easier to care for, Won't overrun your tank too fast and will host most clowns.

Carpets have been known to eat fish including the clowns they host at times. They also get huge as you know.

Yes! Any anemone can sting/kill corals if they touch. Best to let the anemone find where it likes then place corals away from it.
