Anemone Questions

I've been reading up on anemones and for the most part everything seems pretty clear cut to me. I only have a couple of questions about it.

1. I've read that when you put the anemone in the tank that you don't touch it or feed it until its been in your tank for about a week. What are the thoughts on feeding if the nem if its under an alcove and its not getting hardly any light?

2. Since clown fish are part of the damsel family and so are the chromis, in a way, would the chromis be able to host the anemone as well?

3. I've seen one the members on here keep their anemone tank at 83°, I'm sure they only have anemones in that tank, and they said they do better at the higher range. What would be a safe number for a mix reef tank? Since fish like it around 75° +/- a couple and nems like the higher end of the spectrum.

It's always best to let any anemone or even coral acclimate before feeding. You can put the anemone where you would like it to be but in the end it's going to move to where it's happiest in regards to flow and light.

No the clownfish are the only ones that are hosted by the anemone. Chromis are mid to upper level water column fish.

Most keep the tropical fish and corals etc between 78-80 this is good for a mix of corals, anemones and fish.

I would leave the nem alone for probably two weeks. I have three of them in my tank and just did a complete tear down and move three weeks ago. My nems moved all over the place for the first week until they found the spot they liked best. You need to have areas of varied flow in your tank so they have a few places to choose from. Once they found the place they liked I left them alone for another week and they are just now willing to be hand fed.

No reason to feed an anemone, if you have good lights and water parameters your anemone will thrive
