Anemone Rescue/Pity Purchase

Wow! She is gorgeous! all glowy looking and nice. I'm impressed that you managed to nurse her backto health. good job!

Definitely looking better. Have you tried a small piece of fresh shrimp (from the seafood dept.)? I would make it the size of a pea. BTAs seem to like that especially well. If you do try silversides, I would suggest you cut one into small pieces and use what you judge to be a choice piece--meaty and no bones. Although some people have reported problems with silversides, I've been fortunate and never had any. They are very nutritious and anemones seem to love them, but there have been a few reports of "bad" ones that seemingly caused the demise of a few anemones.

Thanks for keeping up with the updates.

Thanks! She is doing much better than she was. I'll try that shrimp trick. I don't know if the BTA will be able to hold on to it but I can always try.

I think you will be rewarded for your kindness with a gorgeous anemone. :)

Seconding Minh on the fresh seafood...tonight I gave my BTAs some slivers of fresh amberjack as an experiment. They practically grabbed it out of my hand!

Wow, I think it will be a very nice green bta, something harder to find here than blue and red carpets in the northeast. Congrats!

Well I have an updated picture of the 'nem! She is doing pretty well so far. Moved to a difficult spot to photograph unfortunately. I'm having trouble getting her to eat anything but Mysis and the occasional Krill. I hope once her tentacles get longer she will be able to grab larger foods. And as you can see, her tentacles are no longer bubbled unfortunately! I was really hoping she would get nice bubbley tentacles but I'll take any kind of improvement haha.
