anemone safe wave makers

i am sure this subject has been discussed before but the search engine is leading me in every direction but what i am looking for. i am in the early stages of building at least a 200 gallon reef. i plan on housing a bta and was wondering what powerhead/wavemakes are anemone safe. i am considering a gyre because it doesn't appear the slots are big enough for tentacles to get caught in. vortechs seem like they would end up being an anemone blender if they decide to detach and move around. .. any suggestions appreciated. just want to keep everything safe

Almost every flow pump has the potential to shred an anemone that gets in direct contact with it - the pump will just suck it through, especially the strong ones. What you need to do is to lessen the suctions by either putting a sponge sleeve or a cage around it.
I'm planning to build a cage around the powerheads in my new tank.

My bta has gotten stuck to my mp40qd with the foam guard for several hours before. I turned it off put him back in the rocks and he was perfectly fine, no visible damage at all. The clown was super confused however.

When I had a smaller tank I was running two Tunze 6020s. A green BTA managed to get stuck in one of them. Some of its tentacles got shredded. However, the anemone recovered nicely after the incident. What makes these powerheads special is that instead of traditional horizontal flow, the powerheads sit vertically inside an aquarium. You can consider Tunze 6040 for stronger flow and controllability since your tank is fairly large.
