Anemone staying in top corner of tank

I'm new to saltwater tanks. My anemone has been staying top corner of the tank for the last 3-4 days. I want to move it but I'll leave it alone. It just looks a bit odd.

I would leave it be...can I see more pictures of your set up?

Sure here it is:

Usually when they climb like that they are seeking more or stronger light, so what do you have, and how long has tank been running?

My apologies, I can't seem to edit or delete messages.

Anyways, I thought I had good enough light :) but I do have a cheap lighting:

Light: Amzdeal 30CM 30 White 8 Blue Aquarium Light
Tank: Aqueon 26
2 Hydor 245 circulation wave pump
1 Hydor Wave Smart Wave pump Controller
1 Lee's Protein Skimmer
1 KollerCraft TOM Aquarium Surface Skimmer
1 Tetra HT30 100w heater

My tank is still cycling. I got brown algae right now. I only wanted to put in 1 damsel, but my brother-in-law is in the military so he asked to put his son's 2 clown fish on loan.

Here are the pics:

Oh my gosh, has it even cycled yet?
I hope you at least used established LR
Nems need an established tank, 6mo minimum normally

My plans:

1. Get a Kessil A160WE light Blue Tuna
2. Get more rock (purple color) to make a mound. Regretted getting this white/bleached rock. Going to have to wait until coralline purple starts growing.
3. More coral.

Well, I would be very surprised if the nem survives, You kinda jumped the gun there.
I personally would return it and set up properly and that means a proper cycle before adding any livestock

Well it's a little too late for that. The tank that the 2 clown fish were in is down.

I'm keeping daily test on ph, ammonia, nitrate and nitrates. Do constant water changes. :)

The tank has got to cycle. So many water changes, it's going to take you months.
Don't know how big the tank is, but your run into the risk of anemone and fish. Get Ammonia badges and some Prime, it may at least lessen the amount of water changes and salt you will go through.
Sorry, I know it's your tank and you can do as you wish, but there are some people that just don't think things through or get the worst advice from LFS.

Good luck......I hope everything survives. Stay on top of it.

The anemone may actually weather the coming ammonia spike better than the clowns do: it'll shrivel, expelling water, until the ammonia goes away.
You need tests for alkalinity, nitrate, ammonia, Salifert is a good brand, easy to use. Feed very sparingly: be sure the food is all consumed. Don't force anything to do anything. You may want to turn the pump off for just a little to be sure the clowns get all the food there is with none left over. Keep Prime on hand, follow directions, and meanwhile read the sticky atop this forum with the blinking red arrow. That will tell you a lot of what you haven't asked yet. Keep the food very, very tight: that will slow down and moderate the chemical reaction that's coming. Hopefully it will be mild, and everything will survive. Clowns are tough. Watch your salinity and keep it at 1.024 without fail: you may want to draw a line on the tank wall to tell you where the water level is when it's perfectly 1.024, and then make up any evaporation with fresh water twice a day until you get an autotopoff unit. You've sort of been set out on the high wire, handed a pole and told to watch your balance, but if you're just careful and keep your levels steady you may get through this.

Holy crap, I put a BTA in my tank after month and half and its doing ok. I wish I knew to wait 6 months. I currently have 7 fish in my tank and they are all doing well. Good luck with your BTA.

I also (as a novice) put a carpet into a just-cycled tank---it grew like mad and took half a 100 gallon tank. So they can survive. But you have to be careful.

I am seeing a blush of yellowed green atop the rocks that may indicate there is some life developing. If that tank can be ever-so-carefully managed, it might make it.

IMO, if your tank hasn't been cycled properly, I'd put a bottle of biospira in. It will at least give you some bacteria for a biofilter that should keep the ammonia from spiking and hurting your fish and anemone.

Thanks for all the replies, it's very much appreciated. I tested the water last night and nitrite and nitrate were off the roof. I did a quick water change and will buy treatment to get rid of nitrite and nitrates. I just need to ride out the storm. Ammonia levels has always been low.

Ammonia is lethal to fish, particularly. The biospira suggestion is a good one. It adds nitrate-handling bacteria, and it may at least moderate what's about to happen. Read this, which has a diagram explaining what the cycle is. Ammonia is poison; nitrogen is not: http://www.marinedepot.com/cycle-an-aquarium-ap.html
I know this is an old thread but just want some closure on it. I've always appreciated you guys and have enjoyed reading the forums.

As a super newbie with reef tanks and aquarium keeping as a whole, I could have been discouraged or ridiculed putting up a tank and having fish and an anemone in it the first day it was set up without waiting for the tank to properly cycle. I've learned a lot since then. Surprisingly, the 4 fish I had in the tank the 1st day are still alive and doing well after a year. I've lost pretty all the corals I bought ignorantly in those 1st 3-4 months. Afterwards, it got much better. Lots of reading and watching reefers in YouTube.

Still learning making mistakes here and there but I'm thoroughly enjoying reef keeping as a hobby.

Thanks all!
