anemone tank

i currently have three maxi carpets in my nano, a sebae malu and two bubble tips in one of my 40 gallons. i have a giant carpet and an lta in my 90 gallon and 3 ritteris in my 125, has anyone had luck with an anemone tank? i am planning to just get say a 450-600 gallon tank and just consolidat all my anemones and get a platinum clown or two so in other words like the ultimate clown and anemone tank.
i am planning on having separate islands of rocks for individual species of anemones, ill be able to build up a few over time as every single one of my nems has split before except my sebae which is about 14 inches wide

does anyone have any input on this? thanks in advance.

It could be a little tricky to balance out light/flow needs for all, as they vary between species.
Some chemical warfare issues could also come into play, and you wouldn't want them to touch each other.
Keep in mind you might not have luck w/ any or most corals other than say zenia or something.
We normally advise only one species, but I've never seen anyone try w/ such a big tank.
I've seen nem specifics that look really nice, but one species.
You should check in nem forum, Moberts sticky, "27 clowns in same tank 27 months", that tank is amazing.

thanks for the input, i figure that with that size tank no separate species of anemone will be within at least 2 feet of another. the biggest trick is my original ritteri, its 2 feet wide. also i just figured pretty good flow would suffice for most and i would have individual lights up so over the carpet and ritteri i would have 400 watt halides over the sebae and malu 250 watt and over the others probably t5's. just a thought

Malu is a Sebae as well, Crispa is most common Sebae.
Crispa can probably handle alot of light and flow as well, Malu may need to be shaded and blocked from hard flow.
While you may place them 2 feet apart, no gaurantee that is where they will stay.

well if they plan to move they will have to travel across the sandbed in order to reach another anemone. also i have a buddy that has tons of tanks as well so we kinda trade around and i can get loads or live rock from him so enough for a varied rockscape. to include overhangs and such

Malu and carpet will want sand bed, Crispa will also plant foot in sand, usually weave through rocks.
The ritteri I believe is a rock dwellar, same as BTA's

yes i am aware, i have had them all for several years and they are very healthy. with my particular anemones the only ones that tend to move are the btas and the lta,and those are both rock dwellers. the others once they find their spot they stay

LTA/doreensis is also normally a sand dwellar, very rare to be seen on rocks unless light is not strong enough and they are reaching for more.
In clown/nem forum there is a sticky that has some great info, a pretty good read.
