anemone tank.

k guys i have a 30 x 30 x 18 tank.

its 70gals.

also have a 150watt MH pendant. 13k geiseman bulb.
thing is i only have a remora skimmer.
dont have room for a sump.

i want a pair of the larger clowns. still undecided.
what kind of anemone should i get?
also this tank is not setup yet. so any suggestions is welcome.

It should be set up for 1 yr before adding a anemone!!!!!

i dont think you have enough light for a nem, unless you hung the pendant a couple inches off the water, and the nem lived right under it on some rocks halfway up?

nah...forget that. you're fine...i have a 24x24xsomething more than 18, and my nems do fine with 175.

these guys are right tho...you need to wait for the tank to stabilize and mature before you get one. and its not just nates/nites/po4/ph/salinity, its a ton of stuff that we cant/dont measure, and im(very)ho, dont really understand. in finance we call it 'magic.'

give it at least six months of complete stability, and you'll be ok if you are completely nuts about not overfeeding, cleaning, stability.

you said no room for a sump...what kind of stand do you have? you'll need something to hide an ATO if nothing else.

Just because you're getting clowns doesn't mean you have to have an anemone. Clowns will host just about anything, frogspawn, hairy mushrooms, magfloats and overflows!
