I got a long tentacle anemone last week and was lod to put it on a over hang in the tank so that it wuls not get to much direct light
seems that th anemone doesnt like any of the spots that i have picked out it just falls of the rock and lays on the sand bed would i be best to leave it were it is??? thanks

Most anemones appreciate strong direct lighting. LTA is a common name that is applied to a few different nems. If it is an M. doreensi or H. crispa these typically like to be in the sand, so placing them on a rock may not make them very happy. For the time being, I would leave it on the sand.

If you post a pic you might be able to get a better ID than lta and this may help you out.

Also, there's a lot and very good info on anemones under the FAQ near the top of this forum. It's always a good read, sometimes you never know what you've forgotten, or what you just didn't know :)

Good luck

It could be H. crispa, but without a shot of the foot and underside of the oral disk a positive ID is kind of tricky.

Regardless of what kind is in the pic, it's on the sand. To avoid possible injury I would let yours stay on the sand for now.

Do you remember if the foot had a color? or if there were bumps underneath the oral disk? Those are the things that help ID nems. I'm glad no one has to look at my backside for an ID ;)

It does take some time for them to adjust to a new tank. Providing the right conditions is helpful. I see you're new to reefing, how old is your tank? I'm not good at the technical stuff, hopefully someone that is will chime in about your lights so you know if you have enough. These are factors that can play a role in successfully keeping your anemone.

Good luck!

Need good water quality of an established tank(at least 6 mo), and pretty good light.
150w PC is a bit weak.

I think you have way too little lighting and possibly too new of a tank. Your sig says you're a newbie.
Also, stop sticking your hands in there and just let the nem figure out where it wants to live.
What are your full water parameters, temperature, etc, etc, etc.
Can't give you any help if we don't have any facts.
