i have an anemone that was placed up on a rock. apparently he didnt like it there too much because he jumped off onto the sand. i want to know it is alright to leave him on the sand or if i should move him. i dont want to bother him but i will move if necisaary.

it would depend on what type of anemone you have... there are many diferent kinds. Can't give advice until we know what it is.

im not 100 percent sure on its name. at the store it was called a yelllow anemone. he has a bunch of short little yellow polyps with purple dots on the end of each polyp

Could be a sebae, if thats the case its a sand dweller. Yellow isnt usually considered a "natural" color. Is it possible to get a picture?

Sounds like a dyed Sebae (( H. Crispa )). They are sand dwelling anemones. Though, the bad news is that I have yet to hear of a dyed yellow one recovering and surviving.

upload the image to www.photobucket.com for example then take the link and insert it inbetween

Good luck to you, do as much research as you can. keep us updated if things turn in the right direction!
edit:
Oh one more thing, be careful the info you are getting from this local fish store, they seem to be full of **** and out to make some money off of beginners. They are selling Dyed animals, and to someone new to the hobby. Usually anemones need established tanks, any good LFS knows that, so i would say proceed with caution with them.
