Anemone

This might be a dumb question but can you have a bare bottom tank with an anemone or does the anemone have to have sand to put his foot down???

If it's a rock dwelling anemone such as BTA then of course. If it's a LTA, carpet, H. crispa among others, then it needs a sand bed.

Assuming that you have a Macrodactyla doreensis -- Curly Q is one of the common names for it, but there are others that have the same common name -- it would really be better off with sand.

However you could use a tupperware container with sand in it.

Similar to this (( this was on a PVC stand, while I was fixing something in another tank that it was in ))

The anemone I have is B. annulata not Macrodactyla doreensis and im not sure if the one I have has to have sand or not.... any help???
