Anenome Dying

Hello I had to move my anenome last week. I think I may have damaged the foot trying to pry it off the rock. The anenome still inflates to about 1/3 the size it usually does, but the foot had taken on a very dark apperance and I'm not sure if its beging to decompose and I should remove it or whats going on. Any input? It was perfectly healthy before I moved it hence why I think I may have damaged the foot.

What kind of anemone?

Did you move it to different tank or different spot in the same tank?

How long did you have it before you moved it?

Can you post a picture of how it looks now?

Hey about 6 months.
Same tank.

Same thing happened to me once; I ripped most of a GBTA's foot off trying to move it from one tank to another. What I did was put it in a fish trap near the very top of the aquarium. That way it got max light for energy to recover and didn't have to deal with being blown all over the place. I don't know if I just got lucky, but it made a 100% recovery and has split many times since this happened. You can't even tell it's foot has been damaged.

But, I'll also tell you this: If it starts breaking apart and looks like it's going to die, get it out ASAP!!! A decaying anemone can wipe out your tank.
