Anenome hosting clown question

Hey Guys,

Posted this in the Anenome/Clownfish forum but thought I might get quicker responses here.

Just picked up a BTA today. I have a wild cinnamon clownfish. I put it in after acclimation and went upstairs to grab my camera to take some shot and she was already in it, Yeah! :)

Quick question, should I cover the anenome with a clear tupperware container for the night, so it gets use to the tank before the clown starts calling it "home"?

She was really getting into it, so I decided to cover it up. Well she did not like that at all! She is trying to push over the container and tailing sand at it, shes a bit mad.... :)

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Here is a pic of both prior to covering it:

yeah, i wouldn't cover it either........it would probably put more stress on it.... and by the way, watch it with that clown, i had one of those for over 20 years, and they get real mean as they get older.........i had to get rid of it

I have that species and that type will host anything. It hosted my flowerpot coral. My clown does not feed the nem, it will take food away from the nem. So yea, they can be aggressive.

I hear you on that cash cow. She is already defending it pretty bad. Snappy at my arm, but she has always been that way. I just flick her away and she stops for about 30 seconds...... hahahahahha

Good luck sticking your hand in the tank anywhere near that Anemone.. I had a clown like that for years and it would take a bite out of me each time I went into the tank and it didnt have a host.. It would **** me off b/c I always knew it was coming and it will still make me jurk my arm splashing water out of the tank :)

they will bite, it will make you bleed.

Awesome! I figured that much actually. I have had her for over a year now. She used to chase my 6'' yellow tang around my old 75g.

Aggressive much?
