I added a anenome today....bulbtip to be exact. it's over 4 inches long...very nice.... but it will not leave from under my rock....it's spreading out nicely but it;s in an odd place with little light and flow....

what should i do? I do not want it to die but i cant force it to move either...when should i try feeding it..?

Leave it alone. It is acclimating to your tank. How did you acclimate it?

What are your lights? Have you acclimated it to them?

It's normal for a bta to hide in a cave or dark place when first introduced. It should start stretching its tentacles out into the light.

i followed the general rule for adding new things...let it get used to water temp, add small amounts of water, empty bag half-way and do it all over again.

my lights are 2x 150w MH HQI & 2x 130w dual actinic

btw, it has already opened up and started stretching it's tents

I would leave it alone for a few days and let it get adjusted to the tank. After a few days they seem to find a better more open spot in just the right amount of light.

yes, they can get a little shy, best thing not to disturb it. Even though it´s not on you favorite place it´s still better to have alive anemone somewhere in your tank, which will probubly be a temporary problem, then to have your anemone possibly die out of stress.....
