anenome removal

Anyone have some good tips/advice on how to remove a RBTA from live rock without ripping it apart?

Mine cloned, and need to remove one.

I've been struggling with the same thing ... how to get some BTA clones out of the tank. Here's my thread ...

Some things that I've seen suggested include:
  • Point a powerhead towards the anemone (not too much flow, but enough to make it uncomfortable)
  • Hold an ice cube against the anemone's foot so it'll let go of the rock a bit, then carefully work the rest of the foot off.
  • Use a fingernail, toothpick, or whatever you can to carefully pry up the anemone's foot. I didn't like the sound of this one ...
  • Turn the rock over so the anemone's not getting the light and/or flow it wants (obviously don't squish the anemone ... )
  • ????

I had the same issue when attempting to remove a Condy anemone. I managed to pull him off slowly. I tried all sorts of other methods, but he didn't budge. Eventually I found that prying him up with my finger and slowly pulling him off was the easiest option.
