Anerythristic clown?

Hey Everyone,

A friend of mine just picked up this clown fish (bottom clownfish) and it looks anerythristic to me. Is there such a genetic anomaly found in the clownfish world? Any opinion on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Nick

I dont think its an albino because the fish still has black markings. The fish has a greyish pinkish color to it suggesting it's lacking in red pigmentation.

Thanks,

Nick

Funny. Given I don't read the Clownfish forums at all, but the title caught me. First time I have ever heard Anery used. Whats next paradox amels?

These terms are used quite alot in biological instutions or studies. I find genetic anomalies quite interesting. Why what is wrong with the term "anerythristic"?

Like I said, I never read the clownfish forums, so I dont know how it applies to fish. Ive only ever heard it in the snake realm.
Maybe I should read the clownfish forums more.

And just so you know I am not blowing snake smoke, this is some of my experince.

Ok. Back on topic.

i wouldn't say its anery, we get pale, almost grey, sometimes brown, or other clowns lacking in color in the lfs all the time,

i wouldn't say its rare or even dramatic enough to call it a new morph,
however it is intriguing and interesting trait none the less.

congrats on an unusual clown, enjoy it!

Well, I would enjoy it if it was mine.... :D but like i mentioned it belongs to a friend. I just thought it was interesting from the stand point of genetics since I have never seen one.

the anery reference also caught my eye...

i would want a hypo maroon clown if it was possible... lol...

I will have him take more pictures and send them to me. Thanks for everyone's input. As far as I was told, the fish is in good health and is eating fine.

Thanks,

Nick

wow what a difference with better light

looks like a black occellaris, I do think however he looks kinda "ashy" lol, not that common deep black coloration.

Looks good, thanks for the better pics!
