Angel fish with some problems

My angelfish is currently having some problems with a bacterial infection as it's showing patches of discoloration. It also has cloudy eye and and some fin rot. One of the fins on the body is also starting to turn red. I have a q-tank set up, but having a hard time catching him. I was wondering if I can just do water changes and how often? What other things can I also do? Oh yeah, and it's a reef tank.

sounds like he needs some antibiotics in q/t maracyn 2 is the only one i have used.

terry always recommends using double the dose and for 7 days.

doing a small water change before dosing each day.

I would first do a FW dip to see if he/she has flukes. The symptoms you desctribe can come from a heavy fluke infestation. Flukes very often are not seen unless they cover they eyes and then it will appear as a "cloudy eye." Do it in a clear container and if you see little "jelly" like creatures on the bottom of the container it has flukes. Prazipro treats flukes. Copper does nothing for these guys. A 2 min. FW dip has seemed to be long enough for me to see if it has flukes.

NO you can't treat the Reef tank. As stated above you should also treat with Maracyn II.

Also, if it is flukes make sure to remove all fish, treat in QT and then return to main tank.

I finally got the angel fish out today and put him in the q-tank treated with maracyn 2. Now he's eating the food I soaked with garlic. I also put black acrylic all around so he can see the food easier. My clownfish and lawnmower blenny seems to be fine though. Could it still be flukes? I already put him in the q-tank should I still give him a fresh water dip?

If the fish is doing well and eating then it may not necessarily be flukes. Is it scratching or twitching? If so then I would do a FW dip. Personally if it was me and I could see that the fish was pretty strong I would give it a FW dip just to see if it was flukes. If the fish is weak and it is not flukes then a FW dip may be too stressfull and just continue doing what you are doing.

He passed away like 5 days ago. I got him out then quarantined him then medicated it with maracyn II. Then fed him some food soaked in garlic, which he was able to see and eat all of. He seemed healthy and suddenly died the next morning. Thanks for your help though.
