Angel Picking on Corals

I have a yellow angel that keeps eating the tips of my elegance coral and picking on my plate coral, too.

Why would it do this. I've had it for a long time and it's only this past week that it's doing it

Thanks

How long have you had it? With all Angelfish it's a hit or miss, sometimes they'll pick, sometimes they won't. I've heared of them being fien for awhile but then begining to pick at corals. How often are you feeding? What are you feeding? You want to make sure the Angel's getting plenty to eat so it doesn't turn to corals, which can be hard.

Rock Anemone

Starting feeding Ocean Nutrition angel formula and adding a strip of seaweeds selects every couple days and he will stop. He is hungry and looking to sample anything with algae or sponge.

I feed my fish once a day, sometimes twice. Usually in mornings before lights come on I feed them flakes and pellets. In afternoon w/ lights on I feed them a mix of mysis, brine, silversides, ocean plankton, formula 1 and 2.

I also put algae sheets in the tank almost every day or at least every other day.

I don't know what else to do for the guy. I've had him for a year almost and in my old tank it never touched corals. It only picks at my plate and elegance coral, and from what it seems, both corals will not survive.

It's common for many angel fish to nip at coals. There really isn't much you can do to correct it. I'd remove the angel.

Some can be well behaved for years, then get the taste for corals.

I have a yellow angel (Herald's) He's been a good fish but when I bought a brain, it was open buffet.

Is there any way I can remove the yellow angel from the tank? I have so much rockwork, it's almost impossible.

It has completely killed my elegance coral and my plate coral :(
