Angelfish Eat Aiptasia?

I have a wide overflow in the back of my tank where I grow out some frags. Inadvertantly I also grow frag disks with aiptasia on them (and ones with red and green bubble algae). I started to give these as treats to my copperband, and yesterday my majestic angel came over and ate some of the aiptasia right off the disk! I give the disks with bubble algae to the tang and foxface, and I have seen the angel go after the red bubble algae, so maybe he's been conditioned to look for food there. I am sort of amazed.

Before I sold my Blueface, notice 0 aiptasia, after selling it, I noticed quite a few. And it would make sense that he would eat them -- loved zoas and my Haddoni.

Now THAT is a happy thought! I have a juvenile Blue Face and juvenile Emperor along with some aiptasia eating butterfly fish. May the force be with them! :lmao:

He he he.

Yea, I was really happy when the blueface started nipping at my blue Haddoni. But gave me a reason to sell it (( made the mistake of thinking I would have a bigger tank )).

Same here both my large tanks have aiptasia growing in the overflows so I know that at least some get in the tank but the only time I ever see any they are down in the crevices and as soon as they get big enough they dissapear

Thats why I got most my tanks before I got my wife sitting on 480 and 375 right now ie plenty of room for angels
