angelfish reccomendations

thinking about adding a an angelfish, i currently have 110 gallon tank w/a yellow tang, tomini tang, flame hawk, tomato clown, mandarin goby and a coral beauty angel. i know i cant add another pygmy so i'm wondering if there are any moderate sized reef safe angels that i could put in my tank. any help as always is appreciated. i would like to add a real show stopper if there is one that could fit in with what i have.

Being that you don't have any planktonic species, you could go with any of the Genicanthus species....win the lotto and run into an infinite amount of luck, then you can get your hands on a real show stopper......Geniacanthus personatus.....be the envy of us all!

I wish i could help you but iam cant even decide which angel to get myself for my birthday in 10 days...

now about adding another pygmy/drawf angel with your coral beauty... i disagree.... i have a Coral beauty, a 1/2 black, a bicolor and a cherb along with an adult colored asfur with no angel agression at all in a 210g

well, if you think i can mix pygmies what would you reccomend? i like flame, and lemonpeels but i would really like somthing differant that stands out

I like the bi color and my next drawf will be the flame and a lemmon peel... of course i would eventually like my 210g,200g and 175g to all 3 be ANGEL dominated with tangs and small reef fish.... now i THINK the key for mixing angels is plenty of rock work for territory and line of site issues but i have not had any problems with my angels except the asfur will run the lunnar wrasse out of his(asfur) area but the lunnar will run the asfur out of his (lunnar) area

I have a CB in a 120 and I am really reluctant to add any additional angels as he pretty sure he rules the world.

That said I have a flame in QT but I won;t try to mix them until my 220 is on line.

I think you're in a tough spot to add another angel in a 110. It really depends upon your CB's temperment.

I would go with a majestic angel if it was me, here is a picture of mines, but I like th<a href="http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l61/redman1221/?action=view&current=55Gfishtank165.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l61/redman1221/55Gfishtank165.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>e lemonpeel too.

I'm a fan of the very reef safe genicanthus angels:

i really like the majestic angel but i thought they werent reef safe, i have never seen a bellus angel up close but it sure looks good in that picture...

I have two Dwarf angels in a 50 gallon right now. A flame and a Potters. The two little guys swim around together. You cant break them up.
IMO the potters is one of the prettiest dwarf angels. If you wanted to go with a large angel, there are two that I would recommend, as I have had both. First off, IMO the Regal angel is the most reef safe of all the Large angels. They can be difficult to keep, but they are worth it. I just posted another thread about mine. The next large I would add would be the Majestic. I just sold mine, as I am getting a smaller tank. But that was a very pretty fish, and did not bother my corals at all.
Good luck

+1. I thought they were dull at first, but I have that same fish and love her to death. :)

I agree that a Genicanthus would be the perfect angel for your tank size and live stock. I think the female bellus is the prettiest in the genus, male or female, and would either get a bellus or a watanabei if that was my system. Make sure it is a good healthy properly decompressed fish and it should do fine in your tank.

i love majestic angels and have always wantede one but have generally been told they arent reef safe, may have to look into that one again

I finally after a few months of looking brought home my lil girl and 12 hours later she is eating and given me the eye. What a great fish, she is an instant favorite for me.

I have a 6" majestic in my reef that has only picked on Frogspawn LPS. He doesn't touch SPS, ZOAs or Croceas.... at least not yet. Had him 8 months now. I feed him lots of algae which he loves.

Just be sure to pick up a fish trap too :) I have found them to be an invaluable piece of aquarium equipment!
