Is there any angel fish that can be kept in a 3 gallon tank? I heard that pygmy angel fish could and wanted to see the opinion on that. This tank is not set up yet so there wouldn't be any other conflicting issues. Starting the build tonight

in my opinion a goby is fine. if you want interesting do something like a small yellow watchman and a pistol shrimp. others may argue that a 3g is too small for any fish. if you ask me though, gobies dont move around all that much so it should work out ok.

Okay also I have a 20 gallon that will be upgraded to a 55 this summer. Is there any fish that starts small enough to keep in a 3 gallon until summer?

i would never buy fish with plans to upgrade.. i know every time i plan on starting a new tank, the difference btwn my planned date and when the tank actually has water in it ranges from about 3 months to a year behind schedule...:eek1: this holds true for most experienced hobbyists.

so why not just wait? a 3 gallon tank would be painful and cruel for most fish to have to deal with for more than a day...

This is a tank I'm setting up to display in a smaller space. So if the fish were to out grow the tank I could easily transfer it. I was just asking to see if there were any fish more interesting than a goby I could keep in it for a few months. Personally gobies bore me and aren't that interesting, the only one I like is the mandarin goby

I would stick with inverts, There's some really cool inverts that would do well in that tank but I wouldn't put any fish in a tank that size
