Angelfishes

Just curious. With a 125 gallon tank. What kind of angels can I add to the tank? Right now it has a yellow tang and mandarin in it. I would like to keep the open brain and the hammer coral and the candy cane that are in there. Few SPS pieces also. Would any angelfish nip the LPS to death or not? Really interested in the regal and emperor, and then maybe some bangaii cardinals (5ish).

Anyone have experience/info on these guys? Thanks.

Actually instead of the cardinals I'd really like a potters angelfish. Just LA lists them as expert only. Don't know if I want to try that. However the regals are also... Why?

Also NEED to buy a new clean up crew for the tank. I barely see any snails in my tank anymore. In the summer the tank was like 82-84F every single day. The temp may have whipped them out a bit, but possibly the 15-20ppm nitrates may have also?

Or they just died, in either case... how many turbos should I buy? I was thinking 50 turbos. Anything else?

regals are really poor shippers if you get one get it from the red sea there more expensive but hardier and brighter IMO...very pretty fish though!!

mine die from time to time too.. i think its just the way they are, either theyre not getting enough food or i dont know. right now i think i found the best combination to be nerite snails, astrea snails, margarita snails and lots of vibex snails or tonga nas. snails. i dont like mixinc hermit crabs and snails because of how hermits just kill the snails off for shells

as for the angel, theyre 50/50 so treat it as if it would nip at corals. i have a halfblack that nips on all types of coral, especially zoanthid skirts

if your tank is established enough you could try one, but they may or may not accept prepared foods, so in the meantime theyll have to graze on what there is on the live rock and sandbed

What do they graze on? Algae? I have GHA I'm trying to get rid of now. :lol: Pods? If pods, then I have a mandarin already and I don't want any others competing with his food supply.

By the way, would 100 turbos and 36 large ceriths be too much to buy for my tank? Just curious since reeftopia has some great "bulk" buys. Thanks.

Well to make it the amount for free shipping I would do like 100 turbos, 36 ceriths, and 36 nessarius. Too many for my tank or not?

ceriths are too slow imo. i have one in the tank that only comes out at night buts its super slow compared to the ones i listed in the previous post. dont turbos get really large and knock things around?

im sure they eat pods along with other types of algae, but i doubt GHA. my angel picks at cyanobacteria all day then picks things off the rock which i assume are amphipods, then moves to the powerhead and overflowbox and just continues this all day-- biggest mess maker ever too; poops out huge chunks as he swims across the tank
