Angels and SPS

I know that everyone for the most part say angels are not safe but I have heard mix results, would love to have a blue face angel in my tank, mostly SPS dominate tank. What has been your experience in the blue face?

I had a medium size Blueface angelfish in my SPS dominated tank before. I did not have any issues on SPS with him at all.

I have found them more likely to eat/pick at fleshy stuff than SPS. Each one is different, but keeping them well fed is a good start with any of them. If I really wanted one, I would risk it.

I had a few Chrysurus for a while that were really good reef citizens.

I had pygmy angels with no issues and dwarf angels are known to be pretty reef safe as well. Ca t help on the blue face though.

My Emperor Angel does not touch sps only lps corals ocasionally

I have an Emporer and coral beauty, they pick and might reduce polyp extension, but no real damage to healthy SPS, but I wouldn't be surprised if they killed a really fuzzy acro.

I have a bunch of angels in my tank which is 100% SPS. That being said, I’ve always been nervous about adding a Blueface.

My regal is great unless the acros slime up. It loves the slime.

Typically them will leave sps alone. But as stated when corals are stressed they will often become snacks for opportunitistic eaters. Angels are definitely in that category

I love Queen Angels but i never hear about anyone adding them are they a total no go . I have only sps, 350 dt. but would like one at about 5 to 6 inch size.

Never have worried much about Angels with SPS. As noted, LPS much more problematic. Currently have a regal, emperor, flame, LemonPeel and Eibli ..... No major issues.

I have many diff angels (see pict) in my tank, no problem with sps, PE might be less. LPS wise those meaty ones eg scolly prata acan etc are at risk while torch hammer etc are safe.

A little off topic but how does the clown tang get along with your other fish? What size tank do you have for all those angels?

The queen is with me for 1.5 year before i rehome it. From a 3cm juv queen but getting too big for my tank.

A little off topic but how does the clown tang get along with your other fish? What size tank do you have for all those angels?

The clowntang show no aggression, most likely because it is the smallest fish when i added it (abt 3cm).

My tank is 2" 1.5" 1" ya
